پیشرفت‌های علمی در اصلاح نژاد دام، افزودنی‌های طبیعی خوراک دام و پایداری شهری

چکیده

هدف: این یادداشت، ارائه یک مرور کلی یکپارچه از مضامین علمی و جهت‌گیری‌های تحقیقاتی ارائه شده در این مجموعه مقالات به خوانندگان است. تا با برجسته کردن اهمیت مطالعات مربوط به اصلاح نژاد دام، زنبورداری، افزودنی‌های خوراکی طبیعی، میکروبیولوژی شکمبه و پایداری شهری، به ایجاد زمینه برای مشارکت در چالش‌های گسترده‌تر کشاورزی و زیست‌محیطی کمک ‌کند.
روش پژوهش: با استفاده از رویکردی کیفی و توصیفی و بر اساس بررسی و تحلیل موضوعی مقالات موجود در این شماره تهیه شده است. محتوای مقالات به دقت بررسی شد تا مضامین علمی مشترک، از جمله اصلاح نژاد دام، زنبورداری، افزودنی‌های خوراکی گیاهی، تخمیر شکمبه، تغذیه طیور و بوم‌شناسی شهری پایدار، شناسایی شوند. مطالب مورد استفاده در تهیه این یادداشت شامل عناوین، چکیده‌ها، کلمات کلیدی و مفاهیم علمی ارائه شده در مقالات انتخاب شده، همراه با ادبیات علمی مرتبط با کشاورزی پایدار، علوم دامی و پایداری زیست‌محیطی بود. سپس بیانیه سرمقاله از طریق ترکیب و تفسیر این مضامین تدوین شد تا مروری منسجم از دستاوردهای علمی و ارتباط آنها با چالش‌های فعلی کشاورزی و بوم‌شناسی در اختیار خوانندگان قرار گیرد.
یافته‌ها: تهیه این یادداشت منجر به شناسایی و ارائه مضامین علمی اصلی مشترک بین مقالات انتخاب شده شد. تجزیه و تحلیل نشان داد که مطالعات به طور کلی بر توسعه پایدار کشاورزی از طریق بهبود ژنتیکی، استراتژی‌های تغذیه طبیعی، افزایش سلامت حیوانات و سیستم‌های تولید سازگار با محیط زیست تأکید دارند. همچنین بر اهمیت فزاینده تحقیقات بین رشته‌ای در علوم دامی، زنبورداری و بوم‌شناسی شهری تأکید کرد. مقالات نشان دادند که کاربرد بیوتکنولوژی، گیاهان دارویی و رویکردهای بوم‌شناختی می‌تواند بهره‌وری دام، عملکرد زنبور عسل، راندمان خوراک و پایداری محیط زیست را بهبود بخشد. علاوه بر این، این یادداشت یک چارچوب علمی منسجم در اختیار خوانندگان قرار داد که مطالعات فردی را به هم متصل می‌کند و ارتباط گسترده‌تر آنها را با نگرانی‌های جهانی فعلی مانند امنیت غذایی، حفاظت از تنوع زیستی، شهرهای پایدار و نوآوری کشاورزی سبز روشن می‌کند.
نتیجه‌گیری کلی: در مجموع، مقالات ارائه شده در این شماره، دانش علمی ارزشمندی را ارائه می‌دهند که می‌تواند از تحقیقات، سیاست‌گذاری‌ها و کاربردهای عملی آینده در تولید پایدار دام و مدیریت محیط زیست پشتیبانی کند.

Scientific Developments in Animal Breeding, Natural Feed Additives, and Urban Sustainability

Introduction
The urgency of this note lies in emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of contemporary agricultural science and showing how innovative, science-based approaches can contribute to sustainable food production, improved animal health, biodiversity conservation and environmentally friendly urban development. Furthermore, we aim to honor the scientific efforts of researchers and encourage scientific dialogue, collaboration and future research in these important areas of study. Food and agriculture stand today at a crossroads. Looking back, major improvements in agricultural productivity have been recorded over recent decades to satisfy the food demand of a growing global population. But progress has often come with social and environmental costs, including water scarcity, soil degradation, ecosystem stress, biodiversity loss, decreasing fish stocks and forest cover, and high levels of greenhouse gas emissions. The productive potential of our natural resources base has been damaged in many places around the globe, compromising the future fertility of the planet. (FAO, 2018). The aim of this editorial note is to provide readers with an integrated overview of the scientific themes and research directions represented in this collection of articles. It helps to lay the groundwork for partnerships on broader agricultural and environmental challenges by highlighting the importance of studies related to animal breeding, beekeeping, natural feed additives, rumen microbiology and urban sustainability.
Method
The editorial note was prepared using a qualitative and descriptive approach based on the review and thematic analysis of the articles included in this issue. The content of the articles was carefully examined to identify common scientific themes, including animal breeding, apiculture, phytogenic feed additives, rumen fermentation, poultry nutrition, and sustainable urban ecology.
The materials used in preparing this note consisted of the titles, abstracts, keywords, and scientific concepts presented in the selected articles, along with relevant scholarly literature related to sustainable agriculture, animal science, and environmental sustainability. The editorial statement was then developed through synthesis and interpretation of these themes to provide readers with a coherent overview of the scientific contributions and their relevance to current agricultural and ecological challenges.
Results
The collection of articles presented in this issue reflects the growing integration of animal science, agricultural biotechnology, environmental sustainability, and ecological innovation in addressing contemporary challenges in food production and natural resource management. The featured studies provide valuable scientific insights into livestock breeding, apiculture, phytogenic feed additives, rumen fermentation, and sustainable urban agriculture.
Research on the honey bee as an urban pollinator is changing views and perspectives on the biological value and ecological importance of cities. From this perspective, the abundance and diversity of native bee species in urban landscapes that are absent in nearby rural lands evidence the biological value and ecological importance of cities and have implications for biodiversity conservation. Urban conservation programs have historically been an investment in education and outreach rather than programs designed to achieve conservation outcomes for high-priority species (Hall et al., 2017).
Several contributions focus on improving animal productivity and efficiency through genetic and nutritional approaches. Research on the economic valuation of production traits in Afshari sheep highlights the importance of selective breeding strategies in enhancing livestock performance and long-term genetic improvement programs. Likewise, the investigation of MRJP1 gene polymorphism in Iranian honey bees advances our understanding of molecular markers associated with royal jelly production and offers promising applications for apicultural breeding programs. A wide range of herbs, spices, and products derived therefrom are considered as herbal feed additives, and essential oils are mainly of this category. The possibility of improving the palatability of feed with herbal compounds is still questionable by selective feeding studies and requires new findings. Although numerous studies have demonstrated antioxidant and antimicrobial efficacy in vitro, (in laboratory conditions) the respective experimental evidence in vivo (using a live animal) is still quite limited. The same applies to the hypothesis that herbal compounds may specifically enhance digestive enzyme activity and nutrient absorption (Windisch et al., 2008). The issue also emphasizes the increasing role of medicinal plants and natural feed additives in sustainable animal nutrition. Studies examining the antioxidant activity and effects of thyme and mint extracts on rumen fermentation, as well as the dietary supplementation of garlic and dill powder in broiler chickens, contribute to the development of environmentally friendly alternatives to synthetic additives while supporting animal health and production performance.
Conclusions
The results showed that contemporary research in animal science, apiculture, and sustainable agriculture is increasingly directed toward innovative and environmentally responsible solutions. The studies included in this collection collectively emphasize the importance of genetic improvement, natural feed resources, medicinal plant applications, and ecological management practices in enhancing productivity, animal health, and environmental sustainability.
The integration of biotechnology, nutritional strategies, and urban ecological approaches reflects the growing interdisciplinary nature of agricultural research and its critical role in addressing global challenges such as food security, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. Overall, the articles presented in this issue contribute valuable scientific knowledge that can support future research, policy-making, and practical applications in sustainable livestock production and environmental management.
We believe that only God is the absolute, perfect, and perfect universe, and that no work of creation is free from defects and imperfections. Therefore, the continuation and development of this publication movement depends on the use of the opinions, criticisms, and suggestions of experts in the livestock and poultry industry, reviewers, and members of the editorial board of the publication, and in this regard, we sincerely look forward to receiving the opinions of all readers of this publication.
