We thank God for granting us the opportunity to be able to take another step towards the advancement and achievement of the great goals of the mission-oriented university after the establishment of the Animal Science Engineering major in all academic levels at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, which was accomplished with the cooperation of the university's experts and caring officials after years of effort and planning. Since one of the most important resources used by students in all universities is the new and recent findings of scholars, experts, enthusiasts and experts in each academic field, specialized journals and reputable and well-known scientific publications in that subject, and those interested can use these resources easily and confidently. The Department of Animal Science Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, Ardabil Province, has, for the first time in the province, obtained a license and launched a specialized quarterly scientific journal, "New Approaches in Animal Sciences". The University of Mohaghegh Ardabili is the owner of this journal and has a scientific research rank from the National Scientific Publications Commission (Office of Policy and Research Planning of the Ministry of Science). With rapid review of submitted articles and online publication of accepted articles, it is ready to accept scientific-research articles from researchers, professors and students of educational and research institutions across the country. Based on the decision of the editorial board, the first issue of the journal was published in the spring of 2026 (1405 in Persian), and the top 6 articles were selected and published electronically with the approval of the scientific committee and the jury.
The beginning of any scientific-research journal is like a new dawn in the field of awareness and knowledge, especially in the field of animal sciences, which is the place of great and decisive challenges in the food security of the people. Now that, by God's grace, the first issue of the journal "New Approaches in Animal Sciences" is published in the Animal Sciences group, it is worth mentioning a few points.
First point: Animal sciences enjoy an unparalleled position compared to other sciences because this group of sciences plays a unique role in the field of regulating food supply and security relations, balance and excellence of society, economic progress and welfare, and the like (FAO 2006, 2009).
The second point is the necessity of localizing animal sciences based on its latest findings in the present era. This type of human knowledge and education, on the one hand, has its roots in the depths of human life since the domestication of livestock throughout history, and on the other hand, it is related to the definition of food and how to provide it with a strong and long culture. Therefore, the findings of the aforementioned sciences will be efficient and constructive when they are compatible with the intellectual and cultural foundations of our animal ecosystem, an ecosystem whose main distinguishing feature from other societies is the Iranian identity with its various and diverse climates (de Boer et al., 2011).
The third point is to pay attention to the important origin of the differences in the principles of keeping and raising livestock and poultry in Iran and other countries. Different definitions of the principles of environmental cognition lead to the prescription of different principles and methods in education, keeping and raising.
With regard to the goals and fields of activity of the journal regarding the dissemination and publication of the results of research and studies conducted in the field of livestock, poultry and bee sciences, contributing to the development and advancement of knowledge in the field of livestock, poultry and bee sciences, providing a suitable basis for the exchange of ideas and information between the country's academic and research centers in the field of livestock, poultry and bee sciences, especially in the areas of genetics and animal breeding; genetic engineering; immunogenetics; biotechnology; Nutritional genomics, nutrition and metabolism; metabolic diseases, feed technology; animal body composition; energy; growth; animal reproduction and fertility; animal products (milk, meat, honey and eggs); animal husbandry economics (challenge analysis); animal husbandry management; animal behavior and welfare; animal husbandry systems; conservation and management of animal resources; It also welcomes research on laboratory animal species and model animals that address fundamental questions related to domestic animals, and the inclusion of articles related to them creates an opportunity to accurately compare scientific perspectives and perspectives and basic and applied research in the field of principles of livestock and poultry husbandry and breeding, and to expose the hidden and lesser-known capacities of this profession to the eyes of researchers, and to express the latest findings and new research achievements in animal sciences in simple, clear language, relying on practical and tangible results in the form of included articles.
Given the recent advances in the livestock, poultry, and beekeeping industries in Iran, the words "discovered" and "new" in the title of the journal indicate the importance of paying attention to both the areas of "research" and "innovation" of the principles of livestock and poultry maintenance and breeding. However, there is no doubt that it is necessary to analyze and discuss the principles of livestock and poultry maintenance and breeding at least as much as to explain the findings, because a brief look at the existing works and works indicates a kind of superiority and dominance of animal science research over the studies and history of traditional animal husbandry, and there is room for a serious challenge in the analysis of the current status of traditional breeding in the exploiter system, and for scholars and experts in the research sector, managers of industrial farms, and postgraduate students in this sector, which has been somewhat neglected. Therefore, it is a good opportunity for all scholars, writers, and respected colleagues in the field of animal science to cooperate with this journal to reflect their thoughts and submit the desired articles, so that they can be informed about the latest findings in animal science in a more tangible way and at the same time in accordance with current science. Because we can no longer rely solely on holding seminars and recommendations from experts and promoters to transfer animal husbandry knowledge. Therefore, in order to increase the content and scientific load of this journal, all faculty members of universities and research centers and postgraduate students who are directly involved in the scientific and practical issues of this field were invited to submit their articles through a nationwide call for papers. The editorial team of the journal has also tried to ensure that the articles comply with the format and format recommended in the Guide to Authors of the Journal of Control and Supervision.
Since the contents and articles of the first issue of the journal contain the latest information on the livestock and poultry industry, it can convey the experiences and results of the paths taken in the world and Iran to the public in a desirable way, the results of which we are sometimes at the beginning of the path. Therefore, we believe that the study of this journal and its future issues by experts, veterinarians, students and livestock farmers, due to the closeness of its content to what happens in practice, can present very bright horizons to them and lead their level of scientific and operational knowledge to a new extent.
We believe that only God is the absolute and perfect Creator and undoubtedly every work of creation is not free from defects and flaws. Therefore, the continuation and development of this movement of publishing the journal is dependent on the use of the opinions, criticisms and suggestions of experts in the livestock and poultry industry and the referees and members of the editorial board of the journal, and in this regard, we sincerely look forward to benefiting from the opinions of all readers of this journal.
Now, at the same time as the publication of the first issue of the journal, it is appropriate to acknowledge the efforts of all those involved, including the officials of the University's Research Vice-Chancellor, the management and members of the editorial board, who have made valuable efforts. I would like to sincerely thank all the dear ones who helped us by sending us articles and pray to God Almighty for increasing success for all these great people.
